What the Bluesberry Festival in Valdosta Is Really Like (From a Local Mom of 3)

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to spend a day at the Bluesberry Festival in Valdosta… let me just say this:

It’s one of those events that reminds you why people fall in love with this city.

This year, I didn’t just attend… I participated.

And yes, I walked away with a win.

🫐 The Blueberry Olympics (and my unexpected win)

I entered the Blueberry Olympics thinking it would just be fun for the kids.

Next thing I know… I’m stuffing my mouth with blueberries trying to win the blueberry jam challenge.

Final count: 115 blueberries.
Result: 2nd place.

I’m not even mad about it.

The kids’ version of competition

While I was competing, my kids were doing their own thing at the blueberry toss.

Let’s just say…
not a single blueberry made it into the cup.

They decided eating them was a better strategy.

Honestly, I respect it.

The foam room stole the show

If you have kids, this alone is worth going.

They had a full foam bubble room set up and my kids stayed in there as long as I would let them.

Running, laughing, covered in bubbles…
that’s the kind of memory you can’t recreate at home.

What made it family-friendly

This is why I always say Valdosta is built for families:

  • Bounce houses everywhere

  • Kid-friendly games

  • Ice cream options on every corner

And of course…
Kona Ice was the favorite of the day.

Let’s talk about the adult side

Because yes… there’s something for us too.

I had a couple blueberry drinks (the adult kind), and they did not disappoint.

Between the live music and drinks, it’s the kind of event where you can enjoy yourself while your kids are having the time of their lives.

Real MVP: caffeine

Shoutout to Flantastic Coffee Co. because they understood the assignment.

I grabbed a blueberry matcha and it carried me through the rest of the day.

If you’re a parent… you already know how necessary that was.

Food + local vendors

The food? Solid.

From quick bites to full meals, there were plenty of options, and everything I tried was worth it.

One of my favorite parts though was just seeing local vendors show up and show out.

The part I didn’t expect

I had so many people stop me and say they recognized me from social media.

And I won’t lie… that part meant a lot.

Because this is exactly why I do what I do.

Not just to help people find homes here, but to help them feel connected to the community before they even move.

Final thoughts

If you’re living in Valdosta or thinking about moving here, events like this matter.

They show you what everyday life can actually feel like.

Not just houses… but community, connection, and moments your kids will remember.

And if you’re not here yet?

This is your sign.
