Valdosta Hidden Gems: Sazon Boricua

If you’ve been saying you want to try something new in Valdosta but keep ending up at the same places…

Let me put you on.

Sazon Boricua

Located right on St. Augustine Road, this spot brings a completely different flavor to the Valdosta food scene—and not just with the food.

What to Order (Especially If You’re New to This)

If you’re feeling a little adventurous, I tried the mofongo—and it did not disappoint.

But if you’re someone who likes to stay a little closer to what you know…

Get the house special sandwich

It’s one of those meals you think about later. Trust me on that.

It’s More Than Just Food

One thing I really love about Sazon is the experience.

They host:

  • Salsa classes on Saturdays

  • Latin-themed nights where the energy completely shifts

And on some Saturdays, they stay open later for those nights—which is perfect if you’re looking for something different to do for date night.

When to Go

They’re open:

  • Tuesday – Saturday

  • 11 AM – 9 PM

With extended hours on select Saturdays for events.

The Vibe

The staff is genuinely friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the pricing is fair—which makes it easy to come back again.

This isn’t one of those places you try once and forget about.

Why You Should Go

Instead of rotating between the same 3–4 restaurants…

Try something different.

Try something with culture, flavor, and a little bit of energy behind it.

Little Bonus for You

If you made it this far, I’ve got something for you:
